Toll gate is the boundary between the two states. The road links commuters from Lagos state (Oshodi, Abule-Egba, Iyana-ipaja, Ile-epo, Agbodo) to Ogun state (Sango, Ifo, and majorly Abeokuta) then every other part of the country.
Lagos - Abeokuta express is a three lane on each sides of the road, the current state of the road is very bad.
The current two state government involve hasn't done anything physical to the road since the beginning of their administration. Rumors had it that both the Lagos state Government and Ogun State Government both claims the roads dosent belong to their state, but instead to the federal government and has both decided not to do anything to it.
Abule Egba to Abeokuta should not take more than 1-2 hours journey, but because of the current state of the bad roads, one might end up spending over 3 hours.
Transport fare is massively inflated because the drivers complains alot of the damages the road do to their cars. Thousands of workers who commute on a daily basis from Lagos to Sango area have no other route than this same express, end up spending more on transport, together with the stress of hectic journey.
Just around Alakuko - Ijaye area, over 5 trailers has been stucked on the road, causing huge traffic around that area. About 2-3 big lorries get to fall off the road daily if the driver is not experienced and careful.
Both state and Federal Governmet is hereby pleaded with, to do the needful concerning this road, lots of commuters are suffering.
