Black Saturday as Three die in Minna road crash
The Niger State Police Command on Saturday said three persons died in an accident that occurred on Friday in Gurata village along the Minna–Bida Road in the Bosso Local Government Area .
The state ’s Commissioner of Police , Adamu Usman , said nine other persons sustained varying degrees of injuries .
Usman said the accident, which occurred at about 09 : 30 pm , involving an articulated vehicle loaded with rice and passengers , was heading to Lagos State from Kano State .
“ Three persons died on the spot while nine others who sustained varying degrees of injuries were evacuated to General Hospital , Minna for treatment .
“We have since commenced investigation and warned truck drivers to desist from carrying passengers in goods truck as such vehicles are not for passengers .
“Its a lone accident but the truck was filled with passengers and goods ,” Usman said .
