“Sad”- Nelson Mandela's daughter “Zindzi Mandela” dies of Covid-19

At the time of her death Zindzi Mandela tested positive for Covid-19, her son, Zondwa, reported

. The 35-year-old announced the news but as they were still awaiting the findings of her post mortem it was not yet clear what her cause of death was.

"There were other studies that were performed and my mother personally tested Covid-19 positively on the day of her death, but that doesn't mean she died of Covid-related complications but merely that she tested it positively."

"Several other tests have been conducted, and those tests will give us more detail on what may have contributed to her early death," he said.

Zondwa also confirmed Friday morning that his mother will be buried. He said the family decided to bury her on Friday and not on Saturday as her father Nelson Mandela 's birthday will be the 18th of July.

Zindzi, who had been the ambassador to Denmark from South Africa since 2015, died in a hospital in Johannesburg in the early hours of Monday. She's 59.
