''I Spoke With My Tolu At 1pm, I Heard She Is At The Mortuary At 5pm''-Father Of Late Tolu Mourns.

Mr Akintunde Akotile, the father of the late first female battle pilot in Nigeria, Tolulope Akotile, who tragically died on Tuesday has just revealed their last discussion before she passed.


Mr Akotile said he called his daughter on Tuesday at about 1:00pm on her arrival from an operation against bandits in Katsina state and that the two of them had a few minutes talk.


According to him, things went in a new direction when later in the day when he received a message from an individual. Mr Akotile further spoke and i quote, ''Around 5:30pm, somebody called me and asked if i had called her and i said yes. The person told me to call her again which i did but there was no response. So i called her colleagues but they were all crying on the phone. I asked what happend, but they were just crying.

''I called one of her bosses who told me she was in the mortuary. I was shocked because she was somebody i spoke with few hours ago and by 5pm she was in the mortuary''


The father of the deceased, Mr Akotile revealed that he had to drive down to lokoja, Kogi State to Abuja on getting the news to inform his wife. Mr Akotile revealed that when Tolulope was small she always wanted to become an aircraft pilot and has worked towards it right from her tender age. After her degree in mathematics she became an airforce cadet, the father explained.
