It was a sheer luck as a trailer conveying planks of wood accidentally rammed into a couple of buildings around a steep road at Osisi in Ogaminana, Adavi LG as it could not stay in control on a steep ascent. The curvy and steep road is directly opposite a Peace and Development Initiative of St.Leo's Catholic Church, Osisi known as "Ododo Weaving Centre"-a centre where locally woven fabrics are manufactured popularly known as "Aseoke" in Yoruba. The road was recently constructed by His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello.
The said truck was driving through the road on a steep ascent when it became difficult to ascend and dangerously resulted into a brake fade, hence suddenly descended and rammed into a couple of buildings numbering three and destroying them completely and a container used for selling provisions was rammed down as well. The truck carrying planks of wood was totally wreaked. The tragic accident happened at the early hour of 4am on Tuesday, August 11, 2020
It was indeed sheer act of luck or rather a close shave as all the occupants of the said houses had already escaped before it happened and an eyewitness, Mr.Salami Itopa said the driver of the truck had escaped to avoid being lynched to death by obviously infuriated people of the community considering the magnitude of destruction caused by the truck.
