Recently, the Nigerian Air Force mourned the demise of the first female combatant after few months of her elevation to a new rank. It was really heartbreaking to hear this kind of sad news because she was still in her prime. And all of a sudden, she's no more.
However, report reaching me from NAN, Akintude Arotile, father of Tolulope, the late First Female Combatant Pilot of the Nigerian Air Force, has finally spoken on how he spoke to her few hours before she died.
As would by any other caring parent, Arotile is pained by the sudden death of his daughter and he is devastated. During the chat with NAN, he was quoted saying, “is an understatement,” recalling how the late Tolulope aspired to have an air service career as a child."
Arotile also recalled how he had told his daughter to “return home on time” when they spoke hours to her demise, not knowing that was the last time he would ever speak to her again and never going to see her at home again.
It's really a sad development because the NAF just gave her two weeks to rest and return to work again before this ugly incident that claimed her life. She was attached to an operation against the bandits in Katsina.
However, the deceased has since been deposited in the mortuary few hours after the accident, awaiting burial.
We continue to pray for the family of the deceased and ask for God's strength and courage to bear this irreplaceable loss of their daughter Tolulope.
