Popular mile 2 market at Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State has been gutted by fire.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Shops and properties worth millions of naira has been brought down by the fire.
The fire started late Friday night as no one can say what exactly could be the cause of the fire.
As at the time of writing this report, the Nigerian Fire Service were not available to help quench the fire. Effort to reach them seem abortive.
Recall that some weeks ago, a popular market in Calabar (Marian Market) was on fire. The fire destroyed properties worth millions leaving shop owners, market women, petty traders hopeless and stranded. The cause of the fire was also unknown.
This is becoming too much in the State. Business men and women are losing their properties to fire outbreaks. Majority of them are petty traders that are struggling with their little businesses. This is really a sad news.
