Tolulope Arotile died on July 14, 2020, less than eight months after she was decorated.
The Nigerian Air Force said it had launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of flight officer Tolulope Arotile in a traffic accident.
He added that two people were also detained in connection with the accident.
NAF Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, who made the disclosure, said the outcome of the investigation would be disclosed.
Date and time she will be buried.
He said that Arotile would be buried Thursday, July 23, in the Abuja National Army Cemetery, with all military honors.
NAF noted that it will continue to support the training of female pilots as 11 are receiving training inside and outside Nigeria.
The country went black on Tuesday when the NAF announced that Arotile, Nigeria's first combat helicopter pilot, had died at the NAF base in Kaduna state due to a traffic accident.
The Air Force said the woman suffered head injuries when "she was accidentally hit by the reversible vehicle of a former high school friend who was harassed while trying to greet her."
