Road Accident

As Her Parents Mourn, Nigerians Question Circumstances Surrounding Death of First Female Helicopter

The death of Tolulope Arotile, Nigeria's first female Helicopter pilot has sent Nigerians into deep mourning with many refusing to accept that she died in a freak accident.

Some cannot accept that a young woman who was identified by a classmate who was driving a car and decided to reverse, was killed by that same car.

While the nation mourns the demise of the brilliant, young woman, even those who never met her agree that Nigeria has lost a rare gem.

Some of the questions those in disbelief are asking include: 1. How come she was hit by someone who saw her standing by the roadside, recognised her, reversed and still hit her?

2. Why is the classmate still un-named?

While some Nigerians have refused to come to terms with the death of the beautiful young officer, some people who knew her describe her as very Godly officer and a prayer warrior:

" I am in shock, I lost a great God Child, Arotile, first female Helicopter Pilot killed by accident, if I feel this way, how will her mom feel? God help us save your children Lord. She was a very strong young girl who knew the Lord. If I tell you someone is good, you can imagine what I mean. A very good girl. God rest her soul. We prayed together, she sent prayers all the time. A very focused and humble soul, a super achiever at 23 years of age. She did not die when she went on a mission in Maiduguri or the one in Niger, she was hit where she stood. Oh, this is so terrible", Mrs Colette Nyananyo, who had taken her as a godchild laments.

One can only imagine what deep pains, anguish and sorrow Tolulope's parents are going through right now.

May her gentle and bright soul rest in peace.
