The Federal Road Safety Corps have been trying their best to ensure that driver and all road users are safe during this rainy period so as to save life's and properties. However some people are nonchalant and don't care about the weather whenever they are on road, which has resulted to loss of life's of many people and even cars. Here are some simple safety tips for everyone who has a car, so as to avoid more losses.

Avoid Flooded Roads.

Never drive through stavnding or flowing water in a road way unless you don't have any choice. Or you are able to follow someone who is able to judge the depth of the water. Deep Waters can float your car and take them off the road. Also flood water is not good for you engines.

Keep Both Hands on the Steering wheel.

Keep all distractions like phones and radios away from you, this will help you put enough attention on the road so that you can be aware of whatever is happening around the environment.

Turn on your Head lights.

This will make it easier for you to see what is happening in front of you, thereby preventing any accident.

Brakes can be affected by water.

For brakes like the wet drum type are prone to decreased stopping power after driving through the rain.

Try to drive at or below the speed limit.

Most accidents that happen while there is a heavy downpour is because most people don't like the fact that they will have to drive slowly, and as they continue with their normal speed levels something terrible might just happen.
