The Execution Chairman of Etinan in Akwa Ibom, Hon Cletus Ekpo envisages Food Sufficiency and Sustainability in Etinan LGA
… Embarks on Massive Agricultural Training and Empowerment Programme.
In his usual proactive style and with renewed consciousness to transform Etinan to an agricultural hub, Dr. Cletus Ekpo’s led Administration is not just giving fishes to young and energetic youths of Etinan, but equally giving them fishing nets, teaching them how to fend for themselves by diversifying their attention from over-dependence on politics and white-collar jobs.
This agricultural renaissance of Dr. Ekpo is in tandem with the Akwa Ibom State Government’s Economic Advancement plans on self-sufficiency for the youths. This is also in line with President Buhari’s economic diversification agenda for post-Covid-19 business recovery, using agriculture as a catalyst for speedy growth of the nation’s GDP.
The Youth-friendly Chairman who is known for his ingenuity and positive foresight has given marching orders for the implementation of the Agro business template that was proposed for the empowerment and capacity building of talented Etinan youths who want to become successful Entrepreneurs in the Agro-Industry.
The two-day capacity building workshop comes with the theme: Agricultural Renaissance, a tool of financial Growth for Generation Next.
The Agricultural, Bussiness and Entrepreneurship Development Exposition will commence on Tuesday 21 July by 10 am at the council secretariat.
The project framework includes the ‘Operation One Mega Farm Per Ward’ In Etinan. When this comes to fruition in all the eleven wards of the local government area with her abundant landmass, the untapped potentials will be harnessed for the optimum benefit of Etinan Youths.
The economic research team will train Etinan youths on modern Agricultural enhancement processes ranging from Aquaculture, Livestock farming, Farm mechanization and procedures to secure funding such as loan and grant from Government agencies, Financial Institutions, Cooperate Donors and Multilateral Agencies.
The capacity-building workshop will bring over 200 young Agro Entrepreneurs together in unity and will lay the foundation for the inauguration of the Eti-Iman Multicoperative Society.

The one ward-one farm project will re-launch Etinan to the global world of macro enterprise.
This project will be made open to all sons and daughters of Iman Ibom who are interested in achieving financial independence via Agriculture and is open for partnership from stakeholders in the Iman Ibom rebirth project.
The Dr. Ekpo’s led Administration believes that nurturing budding talents to grow and control the post-Covid-19 economic boom via agriculture, is better and more profitable than politics.
The planned Agricultural Seminar and Enterprise Summit will be a memorable experience for participants, as they will be greatly impacted upon at the end of the free training.
The Dr Ekpo’s Administration has laid gigantic and formidable foundations for an ICT hub which on completion, will complement the Agricultural advancement project in Etinan, showcasing their massive agricultural renaissance to the outside world for global reckoning.
An anticipated Eti-Iman muti-cooperative Society will give birth to ‘Eti-Farms’ that will be churning out best breeds of catfishes, best quality eggs and dairy products from the agro farms.
