Agriculture from time immemorial has been the source of human sustenance. The cultivation of crops and rearing of animals has been the only way of survival for the common man including the rich. People can survive without modern technological devices or equipments but no man can survive without agriculture. Good governance is the effort of well meaning leaders to make their people or constituencies see Ford to eat, live in peace and and dwell in unity with one another.
Good governance is the heart cry of many Nigerians today. People are crying to government to come to their aid because insecurity, hunger, crimes, destruction of lives and property, skyrocketing of the price of goods and services has become the order of the day. But it seems the people of Ogun state has a different story to tell as their governor receives the award of the best governor of the year from NAA.
The Nigerian Agricultural Awards, NAA gives Prince Dr Dapo Abiodu, MFR the award of the best governor of the year. This was given to him at Abuja on 2nd December, 2020 in recognition of his strides to make agriculture the mainstay of their economy. Agriculture never fails. It has proven to be the best way to improve the economy of any country.
In recognition of the award, the governor took to his twitter handle and wrote, "This recognition by the appreciated body I feel more than encouraged one to deliver more towards making Ogun state a foremost agro-industrial hub for investment in Nigeria". Nothing can revive any dying economy like agriculture.
The hardship in the country is calling men and women of Nigeria to embrace agriculture.
