Last year November, President Muhammadu directed the Central Bank of Nigeria to block food importers' requests for foreign currency in a bid to boost local agriculture in Africa's most populous country and President Muhammadu Buhari had on August 20 ordered a partial closure of Nigeria’s land borders in order to check smuggling of contraband into the country through the neighbouring countries.
Nigeria claims to produce rice that will feed the whole nation when the agricultural sector is not yet standard. To be sincere we can't produce rice that can feed only Lagos State.
Yesterday been 7th of April 2020, The president ordered for the distribution of the smuggled rice to the poor which he called contraband commodity. What happened to our own local rice. Is not enough to feed the people again?
Nigeria should not be saying what they cannot do. This smuggled rice you are giving the poor is someone's good. You create a law and be the one to break it.
Since all those smuggled rice are contraband commodity while wouldn't you destroy it and give us our local rice that is healthy to our health and to boost our local farmers.
What happened to our local rice, while not distribute it.
We should be wise.
