N-POWER:Why Npower Shouldnt Disengage Beneficiaries (OPINION)

The N-POWER schemes was introduced by the federal government scheme (N-POWER) aim at reducing poverty rate and unemployment in the country Due to the the high level of unemployment and poverty in the country. Through agro and skill acquisition

Skills and knowledge are the driving forces of economic growth and social development. Despite the current high level of unemployment, harnessing Nigeria’s young demography through appropriate skill development efforts provides an opportunity to achieve inclusion and productivity within the country. Large-scale skill development is the main policy thrust of the N-Power Programme.

The Scheme also aimed at Reducing poverty especially creating opportunity for the youths. The scheme is now into its third circle of registration of another batch. And millions of Nigerians have registered of which only 400000 will be Selected out the millions of Nigerians. Apparently the number of people Required is not up to one-fourth of the number of registered citiezen on then platform for four years

However the Scheme The Scheme was designed to Accommodate participants for the maximum of 2 years And recent in time the program said to Disengage the currents Batch A and B beneficiaries In order to create space for the next coming batch (BATCH C).It is in the rule of the scheme that every batch of beneficiaries is to last for two years before disengaging them meanwhile the First N-POWER Batch have been on the platform since the implementation of the scheme. The Current Beneficiaries get worry over the rumours of their Disengagement from the Scheme As so many of them are 100% dependent of the the monthly stipends. the monthly stipends is their only source of livelihood

The big Question is:What is the Aim of the Scheme

the answer always stand to be "reducing rate of poverty and unemployment in the country " while if that is the case then disengaging the beneficiaries will still results to unemployment and poverty as many will end up with no job, that means the rate I unemployment will eventually increase, inwhich the main Aim of the Government is not achieved.

Is just like am employee who is Been fired by a particular company leaving him with nothing to live on.

How many Nigerians will be disengage by the scheme and still go back to square one. To me disengaging them will not help Nigerians

What is your say about Disengagement of all beneficiaries
