Price of food items in Nigeria are coming down - Garba Shehu

Garba Shehu, President Muhammadu Buhari's special assistant on media and publicity, says food prices across the country are falling contrary to public opinion.

He uttered this statement when he made an appearance on Channels TV on Friday, September 11, to further explain President Buhari's latest policy issued to the Nigerian Central Bank to forthwith stop the discharge of forex for food and fertilizer imports.

This claim by the President's special assistant has triggered a whole lot of reactions from Nigerians, both domestically and abroad, who believe Garba Shehu's assertion is misleading and not real.

I can testify to this assertion personally as inaccurate, and not true. In Nigeria, the price of food products has rocked the sky to the point that most people can not afford the three square meal a day. So worrying is the rate at which foodstuffs are being sold on the market.

What do you have to say here? In your local government, what is the price of food items?
