In the late hours of June 15 2020, popular Instagram influential page called Instablog9ja, took to the wall of their Instagram page to post and update concerning the commencement of the production of its own gold by Nigeria.
In the post they mentioned, "for the first time in history Nigeria has refined its own Gold and purchased the refined good into a new gold reserve.
On Thursday, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), presented a cheque of N268million for the country's first artisanally - mined and refines gold to the presidential Art is anal Gold Mining development initiative (PAGMDI) at the launch of the gold purchase in Abuja.
They12.5kg gold bar was processed and refined according to the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) standard required for the use of gold as reserve instruments by the CBN, officials said.
President Buhari launched the PAGMDI, a comprehensive artisanal and small scale gold -mining development program in 2019".
