Opinion: Between the uneducated Igbos and Yorubas, which one them understands the strategy of business.
Understanding the major terms in this article will enlighten us on this matter at hand. Firstly, A business is defined as an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial, industrial, or professional activities. Secondly, A strategy is a plan of action designed to achieve a long-term or overall aim.Thirdly,A business strategy refers to the actions and decisions that a shop, industry, company or an organization takes to reach its business goals and competitive in its industry. Fourthly, Uneducated Igbos are Igbos showing little or no formal schooling and lastly uneducated Yorubas are Yorubas showing little or no formal.
Yoruba is one of the three largest ethnic group in Nigeria, concentrated in the southwestern part of the country. The Yoruba numbered more than 20 million at the turn of the 21st century. Most uneducated Yoruba men are farmers, growing yams, corn (maize), and millet as staples and plaintains, peanuts (groundnuts), beans, and peas as subsidiary crops; others are traders or craftsmen. Women do little farm work but control much of complex market system and their status depends more on their own position in the marketplace than on their husbands’ status. So, therefore the uneducated Yoruba women engage in more business than their husbands. No culture in Nigeria is better than yorubas when it comes to cocoa business, even art works.
Igbo is also one of the three largest ethnic group in Nigeria, concentrated in the southerneastern part of the country. They also numbered more than 20 million at the turn of the 21st century. Most Igbos traditionally have been subsistence farmers, their staples being yams, cassava, and taro. The other crops they grow include corn, melons, okra, pumpkins, and beans. The funny thing is that I have not seen the business where Igbos are not involve in. Even in Lagos (a Yoruba), they dominate businesses like pharmacy, shoe-making, cloth selling, boutique and classic restaurants.

07-25 14:07:30No, it is not true. To say Igbos are good in business is oversimplified! Mind you being an Entrepreneur is not the same as being a trader. If your emphasis had been no other tribe rivals the Igbos as traders!! That can be understood, but still depends on how you viewing an object. We can both be looking at an object but highlight different sibmissions which are correct still!!! The perception or ideology of business from London Business School point of view omits trading, but strictly encompass entrepreneurship, distinguished organisational skills, and unique managarial direction. When you visualise the underscored concepts, or rather elements, then you will agree willingly that the Yoruba tribe remains by divinity the dominant factor. My Igbo colleagues overwhelmingly are traders, very good salesmen and women. We are all subject as a team to the division of labour framework.
