Unfortunately, many Nigerians doubted the announcement that the Federal Government will be disbursing certain amount to some individuals and businesses. Eventually, what seems to be doubtful became real when last week the Federal Government disbursed thirty thousand naira (N30,000) to some individuals and fifty thousand naira (N50,000) to business owners.
While giving the details of the disbursement, Ambassador Mariam Katagum, the Minister of State for Investment, Trade and Industry said only ten billion naira (N10 billion) has so far been disbursed out of the seventy-five billion (N75 billion) to be disbursed.
According to her, the disbursements for Payroll Support were made nationwide on November 18, 2020, adding that due to the inability of some states to meet their targets, the portal will be reopened to accommodate such states.
Katagum reported that ninety-four thousand, six hundred and ninety-six employees/beneficiaries have received N30,000 each while six thousand, eight hundred seventy-one beneficiaries received N50,000 each. So to register for the survival fund,
