Good News For NIMC Staff As FG Approves New Salary Structure

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved new conditions of service and salary scale in favor of individuals working with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

The disclosure was made in Abuja on Thursday September 2, 2021, by the Nigerian Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami, during an official presentation of the approved conditions.

While noting the exercise to be a clear and significant departure from existing status, Pantami, emphasized that NIMC conditions of service was a comprehensive document which will serve as the machinery through which the commission would articulate and implement its personnel policies and programmes.

The Honorable Minister further acknowledged that NIMC plays key role that has great impact on the life of every Nigeria including foreigners who are legally residing in Nigeria.

While admitting that it was indeed challenging rallying all and sundry to come to terms with the exigency of NIMC plight and bring everyone onboard considering the economic contractions experienced in recent years and other pressing national projects, Dr. Pantami, said with persistence, determination and more importantly the support of President Buhari, the new salary scale and conditions of service came into limelight.

The Minister however urged all the staff of the commission across the country, to carefully study the document, ensure diligence, and be security conscious while dedicating themselves for seamless operation and integrity of the commission's new document.

On his side, the Director General of NIMC, Aliyu Aziz, expressed deep appreciation to the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, for the speedy assent and approval of the new condition of service and salary structure.

Also reacting to the development, the Postmaster-General of NIPOST, Mr. Ismail Adebayo, admitted that the welfare of staff enhances productivity and equally spur them to double their efforts for more work.

Represented by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Yahaya Rufai, the postmaster-general maintained that improved and well-packaged welfare of staff remains a great antidote to corruption.
