Spiritual Director, Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria(AMEN), Very Reverend father Camellus Anthony Ejike Mbaka has during the program at the Ministry's prayer ground urged the federal government of Nigeria to call for a round-table meeting with the Nigerian doctors on how to resolve the issue of the recent strike. He stated that doctors are second to God and they should be encouraged for the great jobs they are doing in different hospitals
The popular and outspoken Catholic priest stressed that, the risk the health practitioners are taking safe the lives of many Nigerians should not be swept under the carpet. Therefore, there is no amount of salary scale can adequately reward their effort. He lamented over qualified and well trained doctors in Nigeria travelling to overseas to look for job due poor salary and lack of proper support from the polictial leaders.
The Enugu base clergy while speaking during the homily added that, it is very risk and life threatening for those who are meant to save lives to embark on strike. "Do you know the meaning of doctors going on strike because they are not been taking care of? Doctors are the second god we see because they can save lives and they can take lives. How can you think of it? Doctors are on strike! Imagine when only the private Hospitals are open and the government owned are closed. Tell me what the common man will do? He questioned.
He also condemned the act of wealthy politcans travelling to Europe for medical treatments because the local hospitals lacked quality and enough equipments. "The poor citizen who cannot afford medical bills and not to talk of travelling abroad for treatments are really suffering. But our polictican don't care due to they can easily move to outside the country with their family members anytime they fell sick. Is that not act of wickedness? Many have died because they lacked proper medical care. The federal government should listen to the cry our our medical personnels to know what they want. He exhausted.
