How Nigerians Can Qualify For FG's Stipends For 774,000 Jobs - Minister

Federal Government is set for the payment of stipends for 774,000 jobs across all Local Governments in Nigeria, Minister reveals.

The payment is in line with the plans of the National Directorate of Employment(NDE) to assist businesses across the 36 States of the Federation.

According to information by the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Ministry of Finance is commencing the partial payment of the stipend.

In a release, by the Minister, there is an order to verify all accounts with the banks as well as BVN verification.

The Minister stated that false accounts will not be funded by the Ministry. Hence, the need to scrutinise all accounts with their respective banks.

Keyamo explained that his ministry has directed a "rigorous scrutiny of the accounts of the participants" before payment is made into their bank accounts.

He stated that there are accounts with no matching BVNs while some have multiple accounts which his ministry will not allow in order to prevent fraud.

In his words, Keyamo said that "only ACCESS Bank has responded with accounts verified for payments and the NDE has today commenced payments of those accounts" while he waits for other banks to respond.

He further said that the Federal Government will not condone any form of fraudulent act and not under his ministry.
