The news of the death of 400level Medical Laboratory Science student of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology College of Medicine (ESUCOM) came as a shock. The diseased Miss Chinenye Anadebe (Chy Debes) was a hardworking, intelligent and outstanding fellow.
After her sudden death was announced few days, it triggered series of reactions from family members, friends, well wishers and course mates. The impact of her demise was described to be "disheartening" by the president of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Comr. Nnaike Solomon.
In a message captioned "FBMS MOURN" which was made available via Esut Broadcast, the executives of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences (FBMS) ESUT College of Medicine described Miss Anadebe's death as "another great loss of another great student" to the cold hands of death.
Miss Chineye Anabebe of blessed memory passed onto glory on Thursday 16th July 2020. This is coming just months after ESUT Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences lost a great an auspicious personality Mr Aneke Roosevelt. Mr Roosevelt was a 400level student of Anatomy.
While the executives of FBMS sent their heart felt sympathy to Miss Anadebe's family, they called on the students to pray for God to grant her eternal rest in His bosom.
Meanwhile, people have been thrown into confusion over the actual cause of Miss Anadebe's death. Her family could not reveal the cause of her death at first because they were left in severe bitterness and agony for such a loss. A close family friend of theirs had disclosed earlier that it would be impossible to determine the actual course of her demise at that time seeing that the whole family was in disarray.
Rumors making round suggested that Miss Chy Debes died of complications following an infection with the novel corona virus. Although a close friend of hers had earlier debunked the news, it is went on and on following the family's inability to open up.
The family has opened up finally. They disclosed that Miss Chinenye Anadebe was never diagnosed of corona virus. They said she died unexpected after a brief illness which left them in shock. One of her family members described her as a disciplined and promising young lady.
According to the information released by the family, the burial ceremony of Miss Chinenye Anadebe will take place on Saturday, 1st August 2020.
