13% of Corona patients suffer from heart damage.
A recent scientific study said that more than half of those infected with the emerging coronavirus showed their abnormal activity of the heart muscle, while one in seven patients, or about 13 percent, was exposed to heart damage.
The study was conducted by the British Heart Foundation, or British Heart Foundation at the University of Edinburgh, according to an international heart survey published in the European Heart Journal.
The survey included more than 1,216 HIV-positive people, ranging in age from 52 to 70 years, of whom 70 percent are men.
Patients come from 69 countries on six continents.
It is noteworthy that 60 percent of the study participants were those who entered the intensive care or emergency room, and 54 percent of those infected with the virus were severe.
It is noteworthy that about three quarters of the participants were not suffering from heart disease at all, according to the study.
However, the electrocardiograms were abnormal in 46 percent of the patients, while it showed severe heart damage in 13 percent of them.
An electrocardiogram is a test involving the use of ultrasound to check the performance of the heart muscle and valves.
The study confirmed that these readings confirm that Covid-19 is not only a respiratory disease, but also includes other parts of the body. The results of the study helped to treat a third of the patients involved in the study.
The researchers stressed the importance of monitoring and evaluation of Corona patients, to detect possible permanent damage to the heart.
The researchers say they need to research the mechanism by which Covid-19 causes heart defects, as well as what the long-term consequences of the disease are on the heart muscle.
