Study: Find Out Why Weed smokers are More Susceptible to COVID-19

According to experts weed smokers are more susceptible to COVID-19. Leave alone chain smokers, even those who smoke marijuana in a small amount are very vulnerable to contract covid -19.

Marijuana is known for relieving stress and removing depression. This is the reason why many youths are considering using Cannabis. If you are one of the "stoners" now you have to think twice amid this coronavirus pandemic.

“What happens to your airways when you smoke cannabis is that it causes some degree of inflammation, very similar to bronchitis, very similar to the type of inflammation that cigarette smoking can cause… So, yes, your chance of getting more complications is there”. Said Rizzo.

Dr. Rizzo is the Chief Medical Officer for the American Lung Association cited this when he was being interviewed by CNN. He also warned against smoking of any kind which will make your lungs weaker.

The deadly coronavirus has so far infected over 1.7 million people and more than 65,000 people have died due to complications caused by COVID-19.

So far there is no drug proven to cure coronavirus, the best way for weed smokers is to prevent themselves from smoking tobacco or marijuana. Because, when one's lung interferes with this means that it highly exposed to COVID-19.

Coronavirus usually attacks the respiratory system including reducing the efficiency of the lungs hence difficulties in breathing. The majority of the people who have to succumb to covid-19 are people with a record of acute diseases.

Not forgetting that most of the people who have died due to coronavirus are the elderly. Most body organs of the elderly are not as efficient as they were, hence making it easier for COVID -19 to attack the lungs.

Even after the Government of Kenya has imposed a lockdown in Nairobi, Kwale, Kilifi, and Mombasa, there are still new cases that are emerging from other counties. The total number of infected people in Kenya is at 190 with 7deaths.
