Iranian President Hassan Rouhani says 25 million people have been infected with cholera and another 35 million are at risk.
The president linked the figure to a report released by the country's health ministry, and warned that the country needed two more beds than the current ones. Prior to that, the country officially had only 269,440 confirmed cases.
Rouhani said: If you rely on this report that 25 million Nigerians are infected with cholera, then we have to predict that another 30 or 35 million Nigerians may be infected. in the coming months, and he predicts that the number of people who will be hospitalized in the future will be double what we have seen in the last 150 days.
Rouhani added that about 14,000 people died as a result of the disease and 200,000 were hospitalized in 150 days.
