Last week, Senior secondary schools (certificate class) accross the nation were jubilating prior to the the announcement made by Federal Government of Nigeria during COVID 19 briefing.
It was quite disappointing. When there was another counter announcement made to reverse the decision of Federal Government. This has brought a lot of reactions from the well meaning Nigerians about the decisions to reverse it.
Most of the rhetorical questions raised were these.
Are the parents mounting pressure on the government to open schools or to provide safety measures for the students?.
Is it the cost of providing safety measures high for government to bear this period? are the guidelines giving to schools or government that is difficult to meet?.
Does it mean that there was no consultation before the announcement?.
If these questions are correct, it means these children will not allowed to exams this year.
This is reality of what is going to happen to these students.
1. Unwanted pregnancy among the female students
2. Costituiting nuisance in the society.
3. It may leads to memory failure.
4. Loss of interest by parents and students.
5. High level of educated illiterate in the society
6. Loss of focus by students.
7. High level of rape among themselves.
If government can rescind its decision and allow the young promising glory of our nation to write the examination. It will be a welcome idea.
