Oyo State has revealed its plans to consider people with HIV for employment in the State.
This good news was expressed when the State Government donated palliatives to 39 HIV support groups in the State.
The distribution of palliatives to cushion the impact of coronavirus on people living with HIV (PLHIV) in the State was done by the Oyo State Agency for the Control of AIDS, OYSACA.
Chairman of the Agency, Engineer Olufunke Makinde, stated that the present administration in the State is passionate about the welfare of the people living with HIV.
The Chairman added that apart from the distribution of relief package, the agency is poised to ensure that the PLHIV, who have the required qualifications, are offered employment in the ongoing recruitment exercise into the service of Oyo State and beyond.
She revealed that the Agency is working assiduously in making sure that stigma and discrimination against PLHIV are reduced to the barest minimum, while also ensuring that they live a fulfilled life and achieve their life’s goals without fear.
This is indeed good news to the people living with HIV in the State.
