The year's tree planting campaign, held on the 14 July, 2020 which held at the council secretariat, Onigogoro Bus Stop, Masha, Surulere, Lagos, was held in honour of the Frontline Heroes of the COVID 19, who have put their lives on the line to serve and save humanity.
The Council boss of Surulere, Hon. Tajudeen Ajide has commended the frontline heroes of Surulere LG for their dedication toward minimizing the spread of the Coronavirus in the local government.
He also appreciated the Health and Environmental Departments of the Local Government for working round the clock to sensitize, educate and clean the local government in order to flatten the curve of the dreaded pandemic in the local government.
"Planting a tree is a good way of preserving humanity", Ayide said.
Ayide used the occasion to enjoin the residents to wear nose mask,
use hand sanitizer with Ethanol,
practice physical distance and
maintain respiratory hygiene.
Present at the exercise were a representative from LASPARK, Mrs. Apena, The Council Manager, Mr. Akeem Adesanya, The Chief of Staff to the chairman, Alhaji Baruwa, the Supervisory Councilor for Environment, Hon. Yinka Jonathan, HOD Environment, Mr Tunde Obikoya, SSAs, CDC and Head of Information Unit, Mr. Babs Lanre.
