In the month of March 2020, the Federal government of Nigeria initially ordered the closure of schools and many other sectors in the country due to the spread of coronavirus and as a proactive measure to prevent the virus from spreading.
Eventually, the Federal government relaxed the ban on those sectors that was earlier closed exempting schools only.
Earlier this week, The Minister of Education talked about safe reopening of schools giving some conditions and guidelines for reopening.
However, The Federal government has not yet fixed any date for resumption of schools in Nigeria.
In my opinion, All the states in Nigeria with low cases of coronavirus should be allowed to resume from Monday 20th of July 2020, so as to allow students continue with their educational activities.
The picture below contains the list of states with less than 500 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
Since the government does not want the life of students to be in danger of contracting the deadly disease, then states with less than 500 cases of coronavirus should be allowed to resume schools with strict guidelines.
Giving strict measures for reopening would surely help to control the spread of coronavirus while schools reopen.
What's your opinion on this, should this states reopen schools or they should wait for nationwide reopening.
