The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu said corona virus is caused by corruption.
He made this known while delivering his speech at the passing out parade of the EFCC Detective Inspector Course Five held in Kaduna city of Kaduna state.
He however did not make a clear and unambiguous follow up speech on corona virus being an offshoot of corruption.
Corona virus is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. Corona viruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and humans.
What the Acting Chairman of the EFCC now meant by corruption being the cause of the deadly virus still begs for an answer.
It can be recalled that Corona virus outbreak that started from China has being declared as a global endemic by the WHO after it claimed over a thousand lives in just few weeks.
Common signs of infection according to WHO include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.
Preventing the infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs.
