It was really such a good news when it was announced that schools may resume July 29, 2020. However, minister of state for education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba announced that guidelines were already established prior school reopening.
He made this known on Friday at the Abuja Covid 19 briefing. He furthered that the ministry has partnered with the federal ministry of health, Nigerian Centre for disease control (NCDC) to publish safety guidelines for the reopening of schools.
Nwajiuba also stated that schools are to give feedbacks to the federal ministry of education and also take some self assessment. Note that the official date is not on the 27th. Don't b forced to hear rumors. The 27th is meant to determine the initial date for WAEC seatings. Do not believe any fake rumor circulating around.
Nwajiuba also made a very sensitive statement concerning WAEC. He stated that they have met with WAEC on Monday, and have agreed to make consultations with four other African countries for the new WAEC date.
If you know you are not yet updated concerning the established guidelines, read below.
1. Teachers should be highly trained about proper hygiene and sanitation, as this can indirectly take effect in students.
2. Schools should be fumigated on a regular basis based on the social distancing guideline.
3. Staggered classes should be observed in schools as this may help to ensure social distancing.
4. Most important of all, social distancing should be observed. Students should avoid social gatherings.
5. School resumption will be phased i.e each school will experience resumption one after the other.
Do you think the ministry of education did a job weldone?
Should schools remain closed as the cases of the pandemic increases?
Do you think online classes is really a good alternative?
What is your say concerning this?
