Biography And rare photos of Zindi Mandela

Few days ago Mrs Zindzi Mandela the daughter of the legendary Southafrican political legend gave up the ghost. Her death on the 15th of July was due to complications from Covid19 according to a Press statement by her family. Below are a few things you may not have known about Zindzi Mandela plus 10 of her rare photos when she was still alive.

1. Family

Zindzi Mandela was the the last daughter of Nelson Mandela's wife Winnie Mandela. Little Zindzi was barely 18months old when her father was arrested and taken to prison.

2. Married Life

During her lifetime Zindzi Mandela married two husbands in different marriages. She had a total of 4 children from her marriages.

3. Education

She was a graduate of the University of Capetown. She was a wonderful writer, poet, political activist and a foreign diplomat representing Southafrica all over the world.

4. Politics

Once upon a Time she was the first lady of Southafrica for two years, between 1996 to 1998.

5. Career

She was a very brave woman. During her tenure as a diplomat representing Southafrica in Denmark, she really used her position,words and twitter account to defend her people against the whites even at the risk of losing her job. 

6. Burial

Zindzi Mandela was buried on the 17th of July 2020 at Fourways Memorial Park.She was buried next to her mother's grave there.
