LATEST: South-West Government Reveals Plans On Schools Reopening

The South West Government has revealed they are ready to reopen schools for West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) students.

The six South West states have finally disclosed the States readiness to reopen schools for students who are sitting for the 2020 West African Senior Schools Certificate Examination amid the coronavirus pandemic.

This was disclosed in a virtual meeting which was held on Tuesday by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria which is otherwise called DAWN Commission in collaboration with the forum of South West education commissioners, special advisers on education and the state Universal Basic Education Board chairman.

Recall that the federal government disallowed the reopening of schools for the graduating students (Primary 6, JSS 3, and SSS 3) for the preparation for their examination.

However, the federal government had on July 8 reversed its earlier decision authorising schools' reopening for the graduating classes (Primary 6, JSS 3 and SSS 3), for the preparation for their West African Senior Schools Examination Council (WASSCE).
