It is no longer news that the deadly Covid-19 is still spreading vigorously around the world with no feasible vaccines in place.
Russia and a handful of advanced countries are claiming they have developed the human vaccines but such assertions are yet to be implemented as expected.
Meanwhile, the lethal virus has continued to decimate human race to the extent that all human activities have to go on compulsory social distancing and lockdown.
However , there have been justifiable appeals to the Federal Government of Nigeria to review the lockdown policies so that terminal students are allowed to sit for the the respective Common Entrance, JSCE,NECO,SSCE and WAEC Examinations.
Furthermore, before assent is given to school resumption, it is suggested that government and private school officials should implement strict adherence to the instructions given by medical experts on guidelines to prevent the aggressive spread of the corona virus among the students before, during and after sitting for their examinations.
Social distancing should be strictly applied among school teachers, students and external examinations officials.Sanitizer should be used appropriately and nose masks should also be used inside and outside school environments.
Equally, temperatures of students, teachers, parents, security, guardians and all those who have business in the school should be observed for records purpose.
Moreover, this is not the time of inter department mingling among school students and officials.Break time should be shortened and Physical Exercise should be sustained under approved social distance.
Finally, it is highly pertinent that the Federal Ministry of Education should suspend school boarding for now. This is to prevent likely exposures of students coming from different parts of the country to the infestations of Covid-19.
In conclusions, school boarding suspension should be in place until feasible Covid-19 vaccines are available to the common man. Also, all medical rules on this virus should be strictly enforced in the schools for now.Parents and guardians should help to educate their wards on Covid-19 at homes.
