The follow up theatrics which happened yesterday where the acting Chairman of Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC,Prof. Keme Pondei fainted during interrogation by the house ad hoc committee on NDDC is the latest in a series of funny events that have suddenly taken up the political atmosphere of this nation. The commission was alleged to have spend over 81.5billion naira between January and May 2020, just 5 months. Here is a breakdown ;Overseas travel took 85.6 million. What are you travelling to do? Community relations gulped 1.3 billion, alleluia. Condolences took 122.9 million. Consultancy took 83 million, this is where he claimed they paid locals to take them to where there were NDDC projects. Covid-19 relief took 31.4 billion, and there is nothing to show for it. DTA took 486 million. Imprest took 790.9 million. Lassa Fever took 1.956 billion. Legal services took 900 million naira. Maintenance took 220 million. Also include that the commission expended 1.32billion to "take care of themselves". By themselves, we mean the staff of the commission, obviously for their hard work. Lol.
