Nigerian School Resumption Update: Hope Brightens

Feelers from the recent assurance by the Minister of State for Education, Honourable Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, that provided the school owners and all stakeholders in the education sector implement the communicated guidelines against Covid-19 infestation, the schools will be opened for students to engage in their educational activities sooner than expected.

This assurance is also in line with the recent meeting outcomes between the Nigerian government representatives and their counterparts in WAEC and four other West African Countries on the need of shifting external examinations like SSCE to new date.

The shift in date for the SSCE is to buy time for all stakeholders to put necessary safe working and learning environments in place to prevent avoidable pandemic and mass exams failures.

In reality, it should be noted that the lives of teachers, students and all stakeholders come first in the eyes of the government before any other pertinent considerations.

The students are, hence, expected the shift in date for WAEC examinations to study squarely for good exams results.
