The Management of National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) has extended the 2020 Batch A stream II online registration closing date till 11th of August. The online registration which commenced on the 20th of February, 2020 has witnessed many extensions due to the lockdown caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This may not come to many Prospective Corps Members who have been anxiously waiting for their deployment to various states where they will serve their fatherland for the next one year.
Recall that since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country which saw the emergency dispersion of 2020 Batch A Stream I Corps Members from orientation camps across the country, the NYSC management has been reluctant to deploy the 2020 Batch A Stream II Corps Members for service sighting that it is not yet safe to do so. This is not the first time that the NYSC management will be extending the online registration closing date for the 2020 Batch A Stream II Corps members.
The management had earlier said that they will not be in a hurry to re-open orientation camps across the country and can only do that when they receive a green light from the Federal Government to do so. However, with the safe-reopening of schools for exit classes, it will be left to see if the Scheme will deploy the Batch A Stream II Corps Members for service in the coming weeks.
