It is no longer news that the number of covid-19 cases are increasing on a daily basis with over 30,000 confirmed cases in different States Anambra not excluded.
The Anambra Government had called on all the residents of the state to strictly adhere to precautionary measures against Covid-19 as the state is experiencing rather high increase of confirmed cases.
Commissioner of Health in the state, Dr. Vincent Okpala made the plea while speaking with newsmen on Saturday.
He said, "It is frightening that at this point in time most residents of the state do not believe in the existence of the virus. It is time to take actions to avoid the wider spread of the virus".
The commissioner also said that being covid-19 positive is not a death sentence. Here are his words, "The virus is best treated at an early stage. There is no need to cover up the disease because it would be more dangerous".
Okpala assured health workers' of the protection against the virus and appealed that they should not relent in their services to humanity.
He assured that the health system will continue to strengthen to ensure this menace is brought to an end.
"We need to keep fighting against the highly infectious and deadly disease to achieve positive results" he said.
