We Are Ready To Reopen Schools – South-West Government

This six South-west States have agreed to reopen schools in August to permit graduating college students sit down for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate examination (WASSCE).

This mentioned states includes; Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti.

The states’ commissioners for schooling and special advisers on training and nation customary training Board (SUBEB) reached this agreement at a virtual assembly organised by the development time table for Western Nigeria (sunrise). This will also help the children to refresh their memory over what they know so far, before going into the examination, if this is not done the will be a lot of mass failure this year. So if it is done. There will be a post postponement for the examination to the week beginning August 24. Then by then things will be put in place.


On resumption, they stated schools are to hire incident managers and school room wardens even as there may also be a designation of best warranty department for every country to trouble a safety compliance certificate to every of the colleges before reopening.


In addition they introduced that each state will inspire extensive advocacy campaigns to stakeholders, along with dad and mom, teachers, caregivers, faculty proprietors and pupils on what is expected of them when schools reopen.

They also referred to as on WAEC to inspire laptop-primarily based tests (CBT) in the destiny.


Earlier in the month, the federal authorities reversed its decision to reopen faculties. It additionally withdrew students of harmony faculties from writing the WASSCE scheduled for August five and September five.
