As the Federal Government of Nigeria has been trying her best to make parents and students happy and at the same time put in place,a safe reopening of schools, the FG has finally released the guidelines for the reopening of schools in Nigeria. Although specific date has not been announced for resumption of schools.
Due to the protests by parents and students on the statement formerly made by the Minister of Education,Hon.Adamu Adamu that all schools should remain closed till further notice even if it will take a whole year, the Federal Government has released 52 pages guidelines for resumption and reopening of schools.
Among the long listed guidelines are these important ones.......
1. Adoption of a systematic,phased an safe reopening of schools, standing on the protocol of availability of resources to meet basic defense requirements against the Corona virus.
2. Fumigation and disinfection of schools
3. Provision of learning materials.
4. High level of hygiene measures should be put in place.
5. Strong and effective practice of at least 2 meters distancing.
6. The practice of students coming to school in batches, morning and afternoon, to avoid overcrowding.
There are many more saftey measures prescribed by the Federal Government on the long listed guidelines that was released.
But in all,the date for school resumption is not fixed yet.
