The novel pandemic viral disease ravaging Rivers State, Nigeria and the world at large is said to have originated from Wuhan in China and was declared a pandemic disease by the World health organization months ago.
COVID-19 pandemic has caused, causing and will further cause lots of problem to humanity if vaccine is not produced before the year runs out, meanwhile it is just remaining less than 5 months for us to bid 2020 farewell.
However, the world is trying everything humanly possible to curtail further spread of the virus and yet loosing as the stubborn virus keeps stretching figures across the world everyday.
Rivers State government led by governor Nyesom Wike tried all he could fighting against the virus, including taking harsh strategic measures, but to no avail.
Now the state total number of COVID-19 infection has increased to 1,516 following the latest update on the pandemic disease in Rivers State.
According to the Nigeria Centre for disease control (NCDC), Rivers state recorded 36 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday 18th of July, 2020.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to the already mentioned figures (1,516).
However, 992 out of the total recorded cases have recovered and have been discharged, 476 are still battling to beat the virus, while the virus has claimed 48 lives in the state as of 18th July.
Nigeria's COVID-19 confirmed cases climbs to 36,107 following the addition of newly recorded cases in Saturday 18th July. 20,391 are currently active cases, 14,938 have been discharged while 778 fatalities have been recorded so far by the Nigeria Centre for disease control (NCDC).
Coronavirus is real and is living with us, don't join those who blindly argue that their is no Coronavirus in the state or country. Do what you need to do to stay safe. Your live matters, our lives matter.
