All the sectors that was earlier closed were allowed to resume activities when President Mohammadu Buhari approved the first and second phase of gradual easing of lockdown. Only the ban on school resumption is yet to be relaxed.
Few days back, while the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu was given a speech, he spoke about safe reopening of schools across the country and some guidelines for safe reopening.
However, there's no specific date officially announced for resumption of schools in Nigeria.
My opinion, Since the Federal government does not want to put the lives of students in danger of contracting the deadly disease, Then they should reopen schools in those states with low cases of coronavirus with strict measures or guidelines.
The picture below is the statistics of states with coronavirus and number of confirmed cases
Speaking of guidelines for safe reopening, students are tired of staying at home, so whatever rules that might be given for safe reopening would surely be adhered to because they wouldn't want the government to reclose schools as a result of guidelines violation.
In my view, The Federal government should consider reopening of schools with strict measures in those states that has less than 500 confirmed cases of coronavirus pandemic. This will make students in those states happy and will aswell adhere to whatever guidelines that was given from the safe reopening.
The picture below contains the states that has below 500 confirmed cases
Moreover, schools need to be reopened soon because many youngsters are beginning to feel discouraged and if schools don't resume anytime soon they might decide to drop out of school.
What do think about this, Should schools reopen in these states or it should be nationwide.
