OPINION: Why FG Must Not Succumb To The Pressure Of Reopening Schools

Some Nigerian students has taken to their different social media platforms to mount an online campaign which they titled, SAVE NIGERIAN STUDENTS.

Federal Government must not succumb to the pressure of reopening schools.

It's like sending people to their deaths. Just because the cases are relatively low compared to other countries doesn't mean that it's lower, It's just that fewer people are being tested compared to other countries. It will be very unwise to force students to crowd a room everyday.

Just imagine Only 1 case of Corona in a department and the entire department will self isolate, the people in his lodge or hostel will self isolate, those he or she got in contact with on the road too.

ASUU once striked for 6 months but some people are trending SAVENIGERIANSTUDENTS just because they have no idea of the seriousness of this virus.

Also feel like returning to school but with this covid I'm scared because all the preventive measures aren't going to work in our tertiary institutions.

In the end when it get's serious they will still blame it all on bad government.

It's not about who is more serious, it's about what's more important, your education or your life?

Kenya cancelled everything about education this year and everywhere in that country is calm and peaceful, but Nigeria with population boom with one of the highest cases in Africa are agitating and complaining to reopen.
