All schools in Nigeria has been shutdown from roughly four months now due to coronavirus outbreak in the country. The closure of schools were declared to ensure that the deadly disease does not spread any further.
The coronavirus pandemic has really caused alot of negativity in the country's economy and many other sectors.
Couple of weeks ago, the federal government considered the gradual easing of lockdown in the country due to agitations from citizens and complains for pains and hardships.
Eventually, President Mohammadu Buhari approved the first and second phase of gradual easing of lockdown and lift the ban on all other sectors remaining the ban on school reopening.
Recently the Minister of Education Spoke about the safe reopening of schools and listing some measures and guidelines for safe reopening, yet there's no fixed date for schools resumption across the country.
In my view, All States In Nigeria Should Reopen schools As From 20th Of July, 2020 so as to allow students continue their educational careers.
It's well known that students are tired of sitting at home, so no matter how strict the guidelines for safe reopening of schools might be, they will surely obey it because they wouldn't want a situation where by schools will reopen and still be closed as a result of guidelines violation.
Honestly, if markets, garages, churches mosques and other sectors that has to do with gathering of large numbers of people are allowed to operate, then why can't schools be reopened.
In my opinion, The federal government should allow schools to reopen across all States of the federation from 20th of July 2020. If this is done, the rate of crimes committed in the country would increase and many youngsters would be discouraged, so they might end up dropping out of school.
What's your view on this? Should the government extend the ban on school resumption or reopen schools amid coronavirus pandemic.
