COVID-19: "Central Bank of Nigeria Spends Approximately 27 Billion Naira on Health Sector"- Emefiele

The Governor of Nigeria's Controlling central bank, Godwin Emefiele has spoken about the amount of money spent generally on the health sector since the beginning of the pandemic session.

On Monday, Godwin Emefiele said that about #26.278billion has been released by the CBN under the #100 billion credits support for the health sector.

He made mention that about 27 proposals have been gotten from researchers for #67 billion grants. He also explained what the grant is for. It's actually for developing vaccines, manufacturing different types of drugs in response to Nigeria's health care challenges.

He said all this during the inauguration of the Board of Experts in Abuja for the health care sector Research and Development Intervention Scheme.

During the Inauguration, Boss Mustapha; the presidential Task Force on COVID-19 also added that we must take the advantages of the pandemic diseases to invest more in the health sector.

To prevent any other surprises as COVID-19 has exposed the weakness; poor infrastructure in the health sector.
