NCDC Says Adamawa Coronavirus Molecular Laboratory Testing Centre Costs N43.25 Million
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) an agency at the centre of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria has said it expended the sum of N43, 250,000 for the establishment Molecular Laboratory Testing Centre in Adamawa State, northeast Nigeria.
This intervention was designed to help in the containment of COVID-19 in Nigerian and prevents its spread and to ensure health safety of the citizens. This government had argued at the federal level on the need for testing centre across the 774 Local Government Areas of the federation, but said lack of funds deters it from carrying out the project as expected.
This project no doubt has the NCDC, the Nigerian ministry of health, the Adamawa state ministry of health and the officials of the presidential task force as core actors who have played different roles.
The NCDC awarded the project to M/S Malina pharmaceutical Limited. However, checks by WAR shows no link to M/S Malina pharmaceutical Limited.
