National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) To Penalize Seven Corp Members By Extending Their Service Year

Information reaching me from a Corp member says that "The National Youth Service Corp, Osun State has noted that seven corps members, who served in this Batch B, Stream II will have their service year extended, while four corps members abandoned their service duties".

This was revealed, by the Osun State, NYSC State Coordinator, in the person of Mr Adewale Adegoke.

According to him “1412 will pass out from NYSC Batch B stream II, of the July set, while Four other corp members who abandoned their service would automatically repeat theIR service year, while seven others would serve an extension of service for various offences committed.”

“The penalty measures taken against those erring corps members are to serve as a deterrent to other serving corps members and incoming ones.

“NYSC will not in any way fail to correct such acts in accordance with the provisions of the NYSC Act.

“Also, the distribution of certificates to Batch B, Stream II, corps members has commenced and the scheme has deployed officers to all the council areas in the state to ensure strict compliance with the Covid-19 Social Distancing Measures for the days the exercise would last.

“He further added, that the award winner for the set is the person of, Anaya Patience OS/19B/4020 served in Boluwaduro LGA. She produced a jingle on COVID-19 and also produced hand sanitizer and facemasks which were distributed to the host community.”
