The 6 southwest states have concur to reopen schools for graduating students ( SSS 3) to take part in the west Africa school certificate examination (WASCE) on August.
Agreement made by the 6 southwest states opposed the 9 northern states which agree with the federal government that stopped the partial reopening of schools for SS 3 students to take part in the WASCE next month due to the deadly virus which was curb from spreading.
Last week, the federal government suspend the reopening of school which stopped the SS3 students from participating in the WASCE due to the security made to prevent students from contacting the virus.
Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) , Special Advisers on Education and SUBEB chairmen hold a virtual meeting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 which they all agreed to reopen school in order for SS 3 students to participate in their final examination.
"reopening of schools will be made for SS 3 students by August 3 with preventive measures over Corona Virus," Development Agenda for west Nigeria (DAWN) comission added.
State governors are to meet the federal government to discuss over the reopening of schools for students to participate in the WASCE next month.
