Apart from Higher Institution, FG should Reopen Schools By September And Start First Term (Opinion)

With primary, secondary and Tertiary schools locked since almost 4 mokths ago, March precisely, due to the fast rising number of Covid-19 cases we have in Nigeria, the federal government have said categorically that schools will remain locked until it's healthy and the right time to open schools.

Accordingly to academic calendar schools are supposed to be in 3rd term presently and closing the term by the end of July to go on their komg vacation and resume their first term by September, but Covid-19 hasn't made Students and Pupils know their next plan.

But thinking about it critically, with the Muslims festival coming up by the end of July, where you see majority of them always travel home to go spend the sallah break with their loved ones and most of them do take a while before they get back to their homes, especially now that there is no shool activities, they might spend longer than they bargain.

It's will be so important if the federal government can allow student in Primary 6, JS3 and SSCE students preparing for their WASSCE and final exam to resume first week of August, as time is fast going, so as to allow them write the exam so as not to hinder them from doing the needful.

The federal government in my own opinion shouldn't let schools resume back in September with enough preventive measure by schools to curtail the viruus.
