Nigeria is called the giant of Africa, not because we are the richest or the best, I feel it's because we set the pace for advancement and development among other African Countries, despite being the poverty capital of the world, it's ironic right. It's better to tell ourselves this so we can feel good about our country.
What is the Name Of The New Nigerian Tomato Factory?
The new Nigerian Tomato factory is called GB Foods.
Who Funded This Factory?
This factory was funded by the partnership with the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN), the Emirate of Yauri, Kebbi State Government, and GB Foods.
GB Foods are producers of Tin tomato, Jago, and Bama products, Tomatoes Mix and Tomatoes Pepper Onion.
Where is the factory located?
The Nigerian factory is located in Kebbi State, it was finalized this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
Why Tomato? I know that's the next question you would ask yourself, please let me answer that for you.
2 years ago, the world Tomato revenue recorded $190.4 billion, which was about 6.5 percent more than the previous year. Nigerians consume a lot of Tomato because it is needed in their normal dishes like Noodles, Soups and Stews, Jollof rice, Spaghetti, and a host of other food products.
How Nigerians Are Benefiting From This Factory?
The Factory started operation this year and it has created over 1000 jobs, that include a number of farming jobs, factory jobs, and construction jobs. This company would also help Nigeria to diversify its economy.
This is a giant stride for we Nigerians and also for our economy. Nigeria is ranked as the 27th largest economy in the world when taking nominal GDP into consideration. Nominal GDP deals with the assessment of the market value of goods and services produced in an economy.
The factory is the second-largest factory in Nigeria and also, it is the largest fresh tomatoes factory in Sub-Saharan Africa.
It is the largest because it is close to a vast area of land that is used for farming, so when they are done on the farm, they can easily move it to the factory.
